After the shaft pipeline, there is a deflection of the conveying flow into the horizontal drift mining line through a large radius elbow. This elbow consists ouf of a part assembly. The change in flow direction puts a higher degree of stress on the inner elbow in the back. Therefore, the inner wear sleeves are constructed of chilled cast iron (CCI) with a thicker wall thickness in the back. The elbow assembly also includes an elbow inlet pipe to ensure an offset-free transition and an elbow outlet pipe to compensate for turbulence.
