SOLUTIONS FOR SAFE PNEUMATIC TRANSPORT

The triboelectric effect allows electrons to be transferred between different materials. This effect occurs due to friction when plastic material is pneumatically conveyed through metal pipes. This results in a static charge on the metal. Seals between flanges, or even coatings such as paint, act as insulators, preventing the electrical charge from dissipating. Eventually, the voltage becomes so high that a spark discharge occurs, which is particularly dangerous in dusty environments, as it could lead to an explosion.

To dissipate any potential voltage in such applications, we equip our pipe systems with grounding lugs upon request. Any accumulating charges are immediately discharged. The pipeline is safely grounded, and the surrounding area is protected.
